Dark by four in the afternoon, raining more often than not, and the dog still needs walking. This coat handles both problems at once: a waterproof shell with a hood, and a reflective stripe running along it that picks up headlights on an unlit road.

Size guide

Measure the chest girth first — that is the measurement that decides whether the coat fits. Run a tape around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. Then check the back length from the base of the collar to the base of the tail. When the two point at different sizes, follow the chest.

Between sizes? Size up. A coat that pulls across the chest will not be worn twice.

A note on visibility
