Pick your size

Measure the paw across its widest point with the dog standing — weight spreads a paw wider than it looks when lifted. When you are between the two, take L; a cup that is slightly roomy still cleans, one that is too tight will not go on.

Getting a dog used to it

Start dry, indoors, with no water at all. Put a paw in, take it out, offer a treat. Once that is boring, add a little water. Most dogs object to the first wet paw more than to the cup itself, and rushing that stage is why some end up in a cupboard unused.

Care

Empty and rinse after each use. Leave the lid off to dry — a closed damp cup develops a smell within a few days.
