A towel gets a dog eighty percent dry and then stops. The last twenty percent is what leaves your house smelling of wet dog for the rest of the afternoon — and on a double-coated breed it can take hours. A high-velocity dryer blows water out of the coat rather than absorbing it, which turns a forty-minute job into a five-minute one.

What you get

  • High-velocity motor that moves water out of the coat rather than heating it away
  • Low-noise design, an important difference for a nervous dog
  • Ionic function that reduces static and helps the coat lie flat
  • UK voltage, 210–240V
  • Five colours: white, pink, black, yellow and blue

Who this is for

Double-coated and long-haired breeds where towel drying genuinely does not finish the job — german shepherds, huskies, golden retrievers, collies, spaniels, newfoundlands. Also worth it for any dog that swims regularly or walks in real rain through the winter.

For a smooth-coated small dog, a good microfibre towel is usually enough and this is more machine than you need.

Introducing it properly

This matters more than the specification. Start with the dryer off and let your dog investigate it. Then run it briefly across the room, pointed away, and reward calm. Only then use it on the body, starting at the shoulders rather than the head — ears and faces are where dogs object.

Never aim it directly at the ears, eyes or face. Keep the nozzle moving rather than holding it in one spot, and work in the direction the coat lies.

A note on noise

Low-noise means quieter than a professional grooming dryer, not silent. A dog that is genuinely sound-sensitive may still need several short sessions before they will stand for a full dry.

What owners tell us

Golden retriever on a cooling mat
We bought the cooling mat for our Labrador during the warmer weather and it's been brilliant. He actually chooses to lie on it instead of the sofa now.

German shepherd on a faux fur bed
Our 10-year-old Golden Retriever absolutely loves this bed. He settled into it straight away and seems much more comfortable getting up in the mornings. The fabric feels really durable and the bed still looks brand new after a few weeks of daily use. Definitely worth every penny.
David H. Bristol · Faux Fur Dog Bed
Cat with elevated food bowl
I ordered the elevated cat bowl for my British Shorthair and I'm so pleased with it. It looks lovely in the kitchen, feels sturdy and is much easier for her to eat from. The bowls are simple to remove and clean, which is a big plus. Very happy with the purchase.
